“youtube block” is a screenshot of a thumbnail titled “I TRIED TOUCHING MY CRUSH’S CHEEKS WHILE SHE WAS COOKIN...” printed on a shattered stone block. the idea was to monumentalize the most ridiculous brain-rot-type youtube thumbnail and archive it physically. also working in such a technically professional way, the goal was to make an impressive, well-crafted object that is visually pillaged by the stupidest most egregious youtube thumbnail i've ever seen.
putting a large number of labor hours turning brain-rotted, purely digital ephemera into a technically well-executed form, the joke is then more on the artist and those in production than it is for the viewer who may have a similar experience to simply scrolling through YouTube’s recommended algorithm, which could be a 3-second glance and then moving on.
